Traditional Dress & Multilingual Day - Friday 19th March 2010

Our pupils will have the opportunity to come to school in Traditional Dress. The children will prepare oral presentations about their dress and will explore their own identity and think about what it means to belong somewhere- especially as they live in the UK. From each other they will learn about the diverse nature of our world and develop greater awareness. The children will then work together in groups and each class will produce posters on the theme of belonging. Prizes will be awarded to the best posters.

We value our rich linguistic diversity and promote the love for language learning. Therefore we have organised a whole school multilingual event in the afternoon. The children will have taster sessions in different languages of the world. This may be in the form of a dual language story, a song, or a game organised by the staff.

Our very supportive parents will provide samples of food from a variety of cultures. All children will have the opportunity to taste foods from different parts of the world making it a truly memorable international experience.
